eBay Fee & Profit Calculator

Enter your eBay sale price and costs — estimate fees and real take-home profit

The eBay Fee Calculator estimates your final value fee, payment processing fee (eBay Managed Payments), and net profit per transaction based on configured rates. eBay's fee structure changed significantly with the introduction of Managed Payments — sellers who still calculate fees using old PayPal-era rates are often underestimating their costs. Verify final fees in your eBay account before making business decisions.

eBay fees changed significantly when Managed Payments replaced PayPal. Here's how to estimate your profit per sale based on configured fee inputs.

Step 1 — Enter sale price and shipping charged

eBay's final value fee applies to the TOTAL transaction amount — item price plus whatever shipping you charge the buyer. If you charge $5 shipping, eBay takes a percentage of that too. Enter both fields for an accurate fee calculation.

Step 2 — Enter your item cost and actual shipping cost

Your item cost is what you paid for the product. Your actual shipping cost is what you pay the carrier — this may differ from what you charged the buyer. The difference is your shipping profit or loss.

Step 3 — Select your eBay account type

Standard sellers pay the highest final value fee rates. eBay Store subscribers pay lower rates: Basic Store (9.15%), Premium (7.95%), Anchor (6.95%). If you sell consistently on eBay, an eBay Store subscription often pays for itself in reduced fees.

Step 4 — Review profit breakdown

The results show your final value fee, payment processing fee, total eBay fees, and net profit after all fees and costs. Check the health indicator — if your margin is below 15%, consider whether your pricing, sourcing cost, or shipping setup needs adjustment.

💡 Pro tips

  • Free shipping listings often rank better in eBay search — build shipping into your price
  • eBay Store subscription pays off if you sell 40+ items per month in most categories
  • Promoted Listings (eBay ads) add 2–15% additional fee when a promoted listing leads to a sale
  • eBay Managed Payments: funds are typically available within 2 business days after buyer confirmation
